I’m not really into lingerie. Can I still do a boudoir shoot?
ABSOLUTELY! The Golden Mean Boudoir experience is about YOU. What do you feel sexy in? A sexy dress, a body suit, maybe a blazer and some killer heels? Is hair and makeup provided?
Yes. Professional hair and makeup is included in your experience with us. We truly want you to have a pampering day focused on YOU. Part of the fun of a session with us is getting pampered in hair and makeup! And don’t you worry, our amazing team will be sure to customize your look. Whether you want fresh-faced beauty or full on glam, the choice is all yours!
When should I book my session?
We recommend booking at least two months prior to needing your images in-hand. Your unveiling session takes place the day of your session! Final print orders will be ready within six to eight weeks. Please note that due to the production schedule of our professional labs, albums take a bit longer to be produced, but are well worth the wait. Every client wants one!
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. We understand that a boudoir session is a luxury investment, and you deserve it! Customized payment plans are available to make your boudoir session as stress free and manageable as possible. Your retainer is due upon booking and your collection balance due two weeks before the date of your shoot. Just ask for more details!
Do you photoshop my images?
I want to help you feel beautiful now, just the way you are. We flatter you with hair and makeup styling, a wardrobe that compliments your figure, and amazing lighting and posing techniques to highlight your best ass-sets (see what I did there?). I do not believe in heavy photoshopping. Don't get me wrong, I do retouch all of your images and will gladly remove all of your bruises and pimples, but I will not over manipulate your body to make you look like someone you are not. We already live in a time where we are consumed with unrealistic bodies in the media, I want to show you that you are beautiful at this very moment without over the top retouching.
What type of products do you offer?
I offer a variety of luxury albums and heirloom quality prints in presentation boxes. Our albums are the most popular option with our clients because they are easy to keep tucked away from prying eyes. They also come in a variety of stunning covers that will add a touch of luxury to your coffee table, book case, or nightstand if you prefer to have it laid out for display! I still personally look through my album (created almost 7 years ago!) to remind myself of the strength and beauty that is within me. It’s such a confidence boost to look through your photos years from now and seeing your beauty preserved in the form of fine art.
Do you offer digital files?
I truly believe your images shine brightest when printed and displayed. I offer a range of printed products that look amazing and provide long-lasting enjoyment. However I do understand that we live in a digital world! Our collections are all inclusive and include both digital files and printed products. I am committed to delivering a luxury experience and providing images in a format that exceeds my clients' expectations.
I’m freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?
Nerves are totally normal and just a part of the experience! You might be stepping out of your comfort zone so that’s a totally valid way to feel. But don’t you worry, we’ve got you!
Shortly after you book your session I'll send you a complete preparation guide. It includes and in depth lingerie guide, tips for preparing for your session, a detailed timeline, and more resources!
You’ll also have the chance to book a planning consultation in which I can personally help you prepare for your session. When you arrive at the studio and the camera comes out those nerves will start to melt away!
How many outfits should I bring?
That totally depends on the collection you choose and whether you’ve added on any exclusive sets. Typically the sweet spot is about 3-4 outfits for a variety of looks during your session. Your lingerie guide will be helpful to buy / put together your outfits with intention and less stress. However, you can always bring a few extra options. We’ll help you figure out what will look best when you’re here.

Should I arrive at my session early?
You should always plan for traffic and parking in the downtown Chicago area. We’ll begin at 9am sharp but we’ll be here ready for you should you arrive 10 minutes early.
Where’s your studio located?
The studio is in the historic Fine Arts Building located on Michigan Avenue in Chicago's Cultural Mile district. It features elegant and timeless decor as well as bonus sets and luxury wardrobe pieces! I specialize in boudoir photography only and do not share the studio with other photographers. I also take on limited clients per month so that I can fully be present with my clients and devote my time to creating amazing artwork for them!
Some of my favorite things about the studio are the architectural details, the vintage clawfoot tub, the artwork throughout the building, and the occasional serenade by professional opera singers! It's such a treat to hear them practicing during my work days at the studio.
